Yettee Gang, Puddin

Yettee Gang’s high voltage and explosive style demands the attention of Hip Hop fans. The eclectic, yet rhythmic, sounds of the Indianapolis based rap trio (Marcus “Lyvell” Saloane, Joseph “Le’ Dez” Sisk, and Dominic “Desna Quo” Akers) breathes a breath of fresh air into the lungs of Hip Hop. Although Lyvell and Le’ Dez have been making music together as Yettee Gang since 2011, they didn’t enter a professional studio until the fall of 2013. In fact, had it not been for the musical histories of the two artists’ families, they probably would have just kept making music as a hobby.

Lyvell’s grandfather, Dwayne Garvin (Funky Buzzard) drummed for Marvin Gaye and did some backup work for B.B. King. Le’ Dez also comes from a long lineage of musicians. That includes his older brother Andre Sisk who was a member of the Indy band Napalenis and Verbal I Records, an indie music label which consists of his mother Jan’ese and stepfather Ananomus. Desna Quo (a new addition to the gang), has spent an immense amount of time listening to east coast and west coast classics, and brings his own element to the group.

Yettee Gang’s debut single “Puddin” hit iTunes on October 31, 2014. Yettee Gang has performed several shows on the local scene and they are preparing for a mini-tour of the Midwest and West Coast in summer 2015. Yettee Gang’s demand is increasing by the day. Promoters and label A&R reps are taken back when they groove to the smooth sound of “Puddin.” The track is a jazzed-up, high-tempo, and melodic tune that barrows a sample of the late Dorondo Pulliam’s “Didn’t I.” With many of the sounds in Hip Hop having become all but identically dirty, Yettee Gang brings the genre a much needed breath of fresh air. Their motto is: “let’s clean up around here.”
