TheLxveMovie1080p, Lyrical Prowess

Passion and determination are two words that define Kenneth Bernard, TheLxveMovie1080p, a New Jersey emcee who has endured many obstacles in his life from the unexpected birth of his daughter to nearly being gunned down in the streets of Long Branch, New Jersey. These experiences have shaped a Hip Hop talent whose rhymes infuse elements of Jazz, Neo-soul, and Alternative Hip Hop music. Though 1080p’s father resented his poetic expression, he continued writing as an adolescent and the opportunity to record presented itself. During his sophomore year he joined The Franchize and the group released two projects showcasing their youthful edge and raw rhyming ability before disbanding.

The breakup of the group willed 1080p to continue his pursuit of music prominence and he released two solo mixtapes, “Welcome to My Block” and “The Prequel,” that were received warmly by listeners earning him live performing gigs opening for Paul Wall, Lil Boosie, and Young Dro. His next endeavor was the creation of a music company named Fam Music World alongside cousin/rapper Lottazay. Their first project titled “Bachelor Pad” received a management contract offer from EMG, but due to not finding an amicable agreement the deal dissolved.

Feeling that his window had closed, 1080p began hustling drugs to provide for his family and ultimately learning that the hard way after nearly being killed during a set up. He used the experience as motivation to improve his life and in 2009 signed an indie deal with his ACRC imprint. Within months of joining the ACRC he released three impressive mixtapes: “Elevator Life,” Moet & EZ Widerz,” and “Flight Delayed.” These projects have sold over 500 independent units and earned him a number one record on the Soundclick indie charts. 1080p continues to distinguish himself from other underground Hip Hop artists with his obscure beat selection and lyrical prowess.
