The rapper and songwriter from Cambridge, MA was bullied for almost 2 years and developed crippling anxiety and minor depression. Then he found his passion for music. “I was 13 years old when I wrote my very first 16 bar verse and then released my very first song ‘For the Hell of it’ when I was 14 years old in high school,” Tashawn Taylor mentions. In 2014 he released his very first project titled 1Life and the following year he joined a program called The Hip Hop Transformation which is a youth program that teaches the participants about the history of hip hop and allow them to express their creativity both professionally and effectively.

The program allowed Tashawn Taylor to perform at the Harvard Kennedy School for a conference about explaining social injustice and social inequality through music. Now he’s currently a co-director at The Hip Hop Transformation program. Currently he’s working on his debut album and also plans to branch out to different forms of entertainment such as acting, storytelling, and philosophy to showcase his creativity diversity in self-expression.
