Tell us briefly about your modeling career and what has come out of it.
My journey started accidentally in 2009 when I was asked to catwalk for one of my fave alt designers in Croatia. I turned professional in 2012, signed with agencies in the UK and HR and here I am working as a full-time model and actress and absolutely loving it!
Tell us some of your greatest achievements in your career today.
Face of numerous brands around the world (Manic Panic spokes model for Voodoo Blue & Blue Steel, Dawnamatrix, Pandora Deluxe, Lindy Bop, MIJUN, Ryder etc.), covergirl for international magazines, appeared in many music videos (i.e. 30 Seconds to Mars or Picture Me Broken), shot movies and series like The Originals or State of Desolation, to name a few!
What are some of the toughest challenges about your job and what are some things you do to overcome the challenges?
Besides the occasions when you’re on set way over 12hrs, there are two main challenges I’d say. When you got to shoot (i.e.) a latex cat suit in extreme heat and freeze in a bikini in winter or in the desert at night! Second is the animosity, which I quickly learned to ignore as it comes from insecure people and jealousy. You know what they say – kill them with a smile and bury them with success.
What are some characteristics you should have to be prepared in this industry?
Grow some thick skin, it’s all you need. It’s not an easy job, whether you’re and actress or model, usually takes way longer working hours than other regular jobs and a lot of running around. Plus it’s a very superficial industry!
What should aspiring female models be careful of? What are some things that can be unforeseen?
Aspiring models are often very young and have no life experience. There are always going to be some creepy people in the industry, so I would say always have an escort and someone to watch over you till you get the hang of it. Learn to know who you are, what you want out of it, and especially what your limits are!
What hobbies are you into outside of modeling? What do you do on weekends and on your time off?
Way too many! I’m a professional dancer and aerialist, instructress, and choreographer. Also an avid lover of extreme sports like snowboarding and rock climbing, work as a freelance makeup artist, and occasionally draw. When I’m free I love going out with my friends to concerts, occasional movies, and chillax! In love with traveling so I try to combine it as much as possible with work, that’s one of the best perks.
