Only Takes A Day Is A Folk/Hip Hop Duo Blending Two Genres

When it comes to being musically inclined, the duo Only Takes A Day’s becoming a known presence in the music business and are making a name for themselves. From innovative and vanguard lyrics to impactful performances and styles, the music’s speaking for itself and people are listening. Don’t sleep on Only Takes A Day because the musicians might just have something ready for release that’s purely unexpected.

Coming across the pond from the United Kingdom, the folk/hip hop duo is striving to bring together the culture of both genres into one seamless blend of music that’s unique. Only Takes A Day is influenced by a range of artists that span from Bob Dylan to J Dilla. “We mix acoustic instruments with spoken word and have been called in Brixton Blog ‘a more melodic version of Scroobius Pip’,” the duo explains. Since becoming a duo they’ve released a debut EP that reached #62 on the iTunes hip hop charts surpassing Dre’s Compton and Kanye’s Yeezus. They also hit #1 on the London Reverbnation hip hop chart.

Coming off a successful summer where Only Takes A Day performed at numerous festivals, the duo is currently working with producers across London to release a series of singles next year as well as a collaboration project with other London based artists. There will also be a tour across the UK in the summer of next year visiting some of the major cities and festivals.
