Lindsay Lohan And Grand Theft Auto V Lawsuit Thrown Out

Back in 2014 Lindsay Lohan sued Rockstar Games, the makers of Grand Theft Auto V, claiming they used her likeness in the video game. In the game there was a character named Lindsey Jonas, a promiscuous, substance-abusing celebrity that is obviously a satirical take on Lohan.

A New York state appeals court threw out the case on Thursday September 1, 2016 calling it both “fiction and satire” reports the BBC. The “video game’s unique story, characters, dialogue, and environment, combined with the player’s ability to choose how to proceed in the game, render it a work of fiction and satire,” said the judge.

Before this ruling Rockstar Games said it believed Lohan filed the lawsuit for publicity.
