Gio Dee, ChefBoyz

Being raised in Boston, a city where there isn’t a strong hip hop presence, Gio Dee set out to put Boston on the map. The 23 year old rapper has been making a name for himself and helping change the Boston music scene ever since he released his first mixtape “T.O.T.B (This is Only The Beginning)” in 2011. Having a very strong musical background, rapping is not Gio Dee’s only talent. The emerging artist has a gift in songwriting as well as audio engineering. Gio Dee’s “Fashionably Late” project has put him and his #ChefBoyz on many New England stages: Paradise Rock Club, a sold out headline show in Philadelphia, and The Middle East Downstairs. The mixtape also placed him in many music blogs including XXL Magazine.

Taking some time away from the music scene, Gio Dee has been working on perfecting his craft and tweaking his sound. Gio Dee gave a preview of his new sound when he performed on both the Boston stage and Kush Groove pop-up shop at A3C 2014. With many projects in the works, 2015 is going to be a huge year for him. Gio Dee will reach his goal of continuing to broaden his fan base and touring the world, just wait for it!.

Creating the most buzz are Gio Dee’s most recent releases: “Wit Me” featuring The HBK Gang’s Kool John and “Celebrity” produced by @TrapMoneyBenny. Both are singles off his latest mixtape, “TOTB: The 2nd Coming” Gio Dee and Kool John recently performed “Wit Me” while opening for G-Eazy on his #BayToTheUniverseTour. This sold out show at the House of Blues Boston can be seen in the Official video for “Celebrity.” Hosted by DJ Holiday, in association with #YoungCalifornia, there is no question where this mixtape will take the #ChefBoyz.
