Es Q, Double the Standard

Es Q is the founder and CEO of Corprit Ladder, a collection of solo artists all residing in the DMV with one goal in mind: making good music. At a young age it became obvious to her parents that she would grow up to be a reckoning force in the creative arts. At the age of 9, she had already had her 1st poem published, acted in two stage plays, and had a portrait she drew of William Shakespeare on display at a major museum in the nation’s capital.

For years, poetry was her solace. Whether she was on her college campus (she is a criminal psychology major at the University of Baltimore) or patrolling the US/Mexican border as a member of the Air National Guard, she continued to use her poetry as a way to document her life. It wasn’t until the fall of 2010 that she started engaging in music. All 3 of her brothers rap and one day she just decided that she would do it too. Turns out, she was pretty good.

The first song she ever recorded, “Sportfly,” is the last track on her debut album “Double the Standard.” She’s currently promoting that album and the debut release of the rap duo Terrible 2s, comprised of her and her baby brother. It’s obvious that Es Q is on her way to greatness. We can’t wait to see what she does next.
