DGS Samurai Champs aren’t newbies in the professional recording and music industry. As music artists as well as an entrepreneurs in the business, do not be surprised to see DGS Samurai Champs in the biggest publications. Only highlight reel type of work can be expected moving forward.

The duo’s an emerging Canadian recording and performing hip hop group from Regina, Saskatchewan also known as the Queen City. Together they’ve united taking pride in their Canadian identity and feeding off Canadian hip hop and R&B contemporaries such as Drake, The Weeknd, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. Also taking great influence from urban-ninja inspired themes, Samurai Champs often incorporate urban technical wear as well as Japanese streetwear into their image to supplement their dynamic and theatric stage performance style.

With the aim to one day redefine not only what it means to be Canadian hip-hop, they also want to redefine Asian masculinity in hip hop – especially as it’s seen in North America. Samurai Champs’ 2015 release, The Hard Tape, was voted #1 in SaskMusic’s Best Saskatchewan Albums for the respective year. The duo’s expected to release their EP Crayons this summer as well as embark on a cross Canada tour in the fall.
