Dat1Chyck Uno, Reviving The Positive Female Image

Midwest born and properly steeped in a multitude of musical genres is Dat1Chyck Uno who’s been creatively writing since the age of 9 and who wrote her first song at 13. She didn’t grace the recording booth until 10 years later. Though she grew up playing classical violin, Hip Hop spoke to her as well as helped her find a voice.

Now it is Dat1Chyck Uno’s mission to singlehandedly revive the positive female image in Hip Hop while still having fun. She’s born in an era where women in Hip Hop are empowering instead of feeding into today’s over-sexualized image. Her lyrical styling is her own, but her theme is rooted in women like Queen Latifah, YoYo, MC Lyte, Da Brat, and Left Eye. Her tracks range from political to party central; non Hip Hop fans will find themselves bobbing their heads.
