BaZerk, Edgy Raw Funk

BaZerk is a hard-hitting, high energy band out of Los Angeles, CA. They present an edgy-raw Funk style with Rock riffs and Hip Hop beats. Formed in 2005, frontman Zu received inspiration from the artist Prince who personally encouraged him to be unique and expansive with his Hip Hop style. Zu added the influence of Funk, Metal, and Rock and a whole new sound emerged. BaZerk has performed all around Los Angeles, recording albums and making videos for YouTube. They have toured with such names as Prince, George Clinton, Ludacris, KRS One, 311, Wu-Tang, Fishbone, The Black-Eyed Peas, and One Size 0. They won seventeen Battles of the Bands, and have been on the stages of such Los Angeles venues as the House of Blues, Queen Mary, the Roxy Theater, the Viper Room, The Whiskey A Go- Go, Bar Sinister and Boardner’s. Their music is featured on numerous indie and online radio stations.

“American Made Monster” released in 2013 and includes “What Y’all Know About It” featuring funk master George Clinton who stated that BaZerk was “a great original band.” It also features DJ tracks performed by Mark Luv of (Pharcyde, Zulu Tribe). It is common to see Angelo Moore (Fishbone) joining BaZerk onstage; it’s always a treat to see the dynamic of their combined energies. The band is currently working on a new album to be released in 2016. BaZerk strivs to raise the bar, to take each show’s energy to new heights, and keep the fans hyper and asking for more. BaZerk fans make a great crowd and they know it having adopted the title “Bazerkerz” often bringing their own props and commentary to the performance.
