Ahz Moses, Progressing R&B and Hip-Hop

The name Ahz Moses is the play on the word “osmosis” meaning the balance in a membrane (by diffusion of molecules in the brain) which brings creativity or new ideas. Ahz Moses is a singer/rapper/songwriter who began singing at age 4 and wrote his first song and rhymes at age 9. He grew up in a musical family and in doing so had a chance to play with his father’s gospel quartet group. While being exposed to musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Fred Hammond, and the Winans, he later developed his own taste in urban contemporaries such as Outkast, Cee Lo Greene, D’angelo, Lauryn Hill, and the Neptunes.

Throughout high school and college years he participated in several music groups (one hip-hop, “Move Jimmy” and one R&B “610”). His family later moved to Houston, TX where he’d soon follow. While writing and doing backgrounds vocals for various artists, Ahz Moses remains focused on his own. His style, which he considers neo-R&B (a new age R&B) with a blend of hip-hop profundity, paints a vivid understanding of art through awareness and love.

His latest single “Ready” has been invading the speakers of lovers all over. Now returning off tour with rapper Joe Budden, Ahz Moses is working on his debut album which for now remains untitled. Ahz Moses is here, not to only do what he does, but to take a lead in forwarding the progression of new R&B and hip-hop.
