YaboiiLex, 2015 Is Just The Beginning

Alexsis A. Espinosa, Yaboiilex, was born on December 7, 1996 in Brooklyn, New York. His two older brothers inspired him at a young age and helped him grow as an artist. When they moved to Jersey City in 2003 Yaboiilex was always surrounded by his brothers’ music. Watching his brothers gave him the desire to pursue a career in music and started him on the path. Yaboiilex was taught how to engineer by his older brother Elias who went to Touro College to become a certified audio engineer.

Yaboiilex wrote his first rap at age 9 and started making beats on Fruity Loops. At 14 he joined a school club called Little Kids Rock and had the opportunity to perform John Lennon’s “Imagine,” while playing the piano, with Kris Allen (season 8 winner of American Idol) and Bernie Williams at B.B. Kings. This was a great learning experience and fueled his dream to become a performer. After meeting Starchild, Malik Price, and PiQaso in high school, the group began performing every Friday building Yaboiilex’s confidence and performing skills.

2013 was the year Yaboiilex met Mattdinero and established the movement called Live-so-Loud (LSL) that eventually led to building a team of artists as well as a photographers, graphic designers, and promoters/managers. On January 30, 2013 Yaboiilex dropped his first mixtape, “Call Me LEX,” on Datpiff.com. The following year on August 17, 2014 he released his second mixtape “Wake Up!” Yaboiilex is a motivational writer and he strives to change the way people perceive Rap music.
