Truly Groovy, In Da Groove

Three calm, cool, and collected guys that are getting high making music to make a way for their families are hitting the airwaves as the trio named Truly Groovy. Repping Houston, TX, the group has been at it for a short time and are introducing a style that’s incomparable in the music industry. Truly Groovy is more than just a group, it is a feeling, a way of thinking, and a great product. It describes the lifestyle that they live every day and it gives them a purpose. Comprising the trio is Shamon Freeman (Money Mon), Jamal Young (Polo G5), and Justin Mays (Jai Maize or Justo).

Only active since 2012, Truly Groovy has found that as up and comers in Houston has been a feat to overcome and are an example that with constant determination, consistency, and creativity they will be able to reach their goals. Money Mon dropped his mixtape Mistakes Aren’t Optional in 2014 which is available on Soundcloud. As group they are working on their debut mixtape titled In Da Groove which is slated for a summer release.

Coming up in the 1st quarter of 2016, Truly Groovy will be performing at Houston’s prestigious Warehouse Live on March 16, 2016 and their newest single, “Ridin Round,” will be a part of Project Anarchy Studio’s mixtape releasing during this year’s SXSW Music Festival in Austin, TX. The group’s motto, “we’re from Houston, but we ain’t no Houston artists,” is what will be propelling them toward a successful career as music artists. These guys just may be the best group to come out of Houston since the legendary Geto Boys.
