The Faculty, American Dreamin’

The core of The Faculty is made up of two long-time friends, Josh Levine and Jerrett Johnson. Growing up together in a small town in central California these two have been making music together since junior high. They now combine their passion for music which infuses hip hop, rock n’ roll, and funk into what they have tagged as indie hip rock. “We want our music to not only sound good but also nourish the soul,” says Josh Levine when describing their music’s goal.

Josh Levine moved to Los Angeles five years ago to pursue his dream in filmmaking and music and now is working as a producer/director for Time Warner. He’s currently involved in numerous productions including, but not limited to, documentaries, sitcom pilots, and music videos. He has filmed for numerous mainstream artists like Snoop Dogg, The Game, Crooked I, Fashawn, Nas, Dilated Peoples, and many more. His work has been recognized by the California Film Awards and nationally by the Telly’s and the CAB Artist Showcase Awards.

Jerrett Johnson resides in Visalia, CA with his family. A father by day and an excellent lyricist by night. He brings a soulful funkadelic element to The Faculty. “Music is about touching the soul and making people smile. That is what we are hoping to accomplish,” says Jerrett Johnson when reflecting about what it means to make music.
