Take Off Music has the dream to become the illest indie record label around. From the music production and dedication to the work and music, the label has definitely left a stamp in the music industry and community with cutting edge songs and lyrics. As a music artists as well as an entrepreneur in the music business, do not be surprised to see Take Off Music in the biggest publications.

The label was founded in 2012 in Terrytown, LA by Bowie “Yung Kaptin” Richard and as founder he gathered a few of the most lyrical artists known to him. Coming on board was Mark “Smurph” Haylock who was named vice president, Dylan “Turtle” Perrin, and former artist Jay Lyonz rounded out the initial roster. On January 17, 2014 the label hosted their first show as a record label on a night filled with an amazing performances. After the show, Yung Kaptin, because of unfortunate circumstances, lost his life at a bar in the early morning hours.

Not ones to be halted, both Turtle and Smurph are taking it upon themselves to carry Kaptin’s legacy. Unrelenting to make it in today’s music industry, they remain to be a force to reckon with. These young artists are putting in the work by preforming locally as well as nationally. Turtle recently released his newest project The ChronicIllz of 2 Turnt while Smuph’s currently working on his new project. Upcoming goals are to simply reach the highest level possible until they reach the top.
