Shawn Deena, An Infectious Groove

Shawn Deena has been making his mark on the music scene in North Carolina since he moved there in 2001 entertaining audiences, both large and small. His sound is unique and familiar. Listeners will recognize influences from artists such as Dave Matthews, Richie Havens, Ben Harper, John Mayer, Eddie Vedder, and Johnny Cash throughout his songs. His acoustic-alternative performance style has been described as anything from energetically lively to an infectious groove. Riding the line between blues, neo-soul, and alternative, his sound has something to offer to a wide range of fans.

As a drummer earlier in his musical career he played in several bands but has been playing music for as long as he can remember. His transition to singer/songwriter was gradual starting out originally as a lyric writer and collaborator. As he continued to explore his songwriting skills he honed both his guitar and vocal style to develop his sound that fans have come to recognize. He currently performs in an around the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area at local venues, events, and festivals either doing solo shows or as a support act/opener. He also enjoys donating his time and music to charities and non-profit organizations whenever and wherever he can.
