ScooterBoi, A Branded Powerhouse

On the 26 of January in 1988, Marquis Jamal Hunt, ScooterBoi, was born to be a star. As a multi-talented 27 year old rapper, songwriter, performer, and promoter, Marquis works hard to fulfill his destiny. Hard working as he is, the early life of the rapper was anything but easy. For Marquis, music became not just a hobby but a lifestyle. Wanting to continue his education and further his career in music, Marquis desired to attend college. Unfortunately his dreams were put on hold in 2005 when he was shot while visiting a friend in Minneapolis. The musician was down, but not out of the game. Marquis dropped his first mixtape entitled “Rookie of the Year: Volume One.” The support of the streets was amazing and rapping became the way of life for this young artist.

“Rookie of the Year: Volume One” was followed by 2006’s “(MVP) Most Valuable Punch lines: Volume Two” and 2009’s “Hall of fame: Volume Three.” In early February of 2010, his fourth mixtape, “Are you sick of me yet?” was released; this was Marquis’ best mixtape to date. With momentum building, Marquis was ready to get his company set up. The business plan was set and his group Flight Academy (now Flight Academy Entertainment) was formed. This company not only produces artists in Minnesota, but is working to have a clothing line and other products as well.

In 2014 Marquis was scouted out by Minnesota top A&R Victor Archibong who owns TeamBnt Music Group and Basement Entertainment Music. Victor was known for developing artists and creating stars, and bringing labels interest to them. Marquis signed a 2 year management deal with TeamBnt Music Group. In 2015 he began shooting his video for “Higher Learning” and upon release gained 6,000+ views in a month. He also sold out a show at Mill City Nights, a Minneapolis venue, the following month with special guest and Vine celebrity Domo Wilson. Marquis is ready for anything under new management and has branded himself to be a powerhouse through trials and tribulations that has made him who he is today.
