Sarey Savy, Marking My Entrance Into The Industry

Dynamic, vibrant, and versatile are just some words to describe Seattleite Sarey Savy. He is a positive role model in the community and an inspiration to musicians everywhere. His songs are open minded and catchy in every way imaginable. No stranger to the local music scene, Sarey (18) began singing at the age of 8. He was born into a Cambodian-musical family with his mother, oldest sister, aunt, and uncle performing regularly at a variety of casinos with a band his uncle is a part of named Cam Star Band. By the age of 16 he auditioned for NBC’s “The Winner Is,” received a call back but, but didn’t appear for the live televised screenings. Though an upsetting moment, Savy began working even harder to hone his skills as a performer marketing his name independently and soon garnered attention from local media.

Living in White Center, Sarey has been the only artist to expand and start the cycle of LGBTQ youth talents in the arts. From April to August 2013, Sarey headlined his first local tour titled “The LOUD Tour” performing at venues such as NW Globalfest 2013 and Capitol Hill Pride Festival 2013. On March 1st he released “18,” the mixtape which featured the single “Run Out Of Time.” From June – July 2014 he had the opportunity to headline the Tacoma Pride Festival and performed at the Fred Wildlife Refuge which had a great turn out of teens/young adults. As of mid-July 2014, Sarey has announced the release of his official single “Do Me Right” and is to debut his EP Fall 2015. This will mark his entrance to the music industry. He is also involved with a local LGBTQ community that promotes awareness and a safe space for youth ages 12-21.

In addition to being a singer-songwriter, he is also an actor making appearances on local commercials like Renton Gold & Coin, Autodesk, created by SpinText Communications (an award winning global digital marketing team of consultants, developers, writers, project managers, and artists).
