To gain a grasp of who Miké is as an artist and person one must first grasp his gender expression. He’s the opposite of a very masculine looking lesbian because not many gay men really embrace their femininity the way he does. Growing up in the age of internet pop forums, he saw the way certain groups of fans would digest their favorite singers and he gradually created his own. Miké’s been doing music all his life and went to an arts high school in his senior year and did a year at Berklee College of Music for voice. He decided it wasn’t worth getting into mountains of debt for and so he was determined to create his own path.

Pinpointing a most pleasing experience was the collaboration with female rapper Cupcakke on Miké’s song “Man Pussy.” He felt that the raptress was one of the only rappers out there who would not only understand the song but also write a perfect verse for it.  He also recalls a 2012 effort with producer Chris Young where both collaborated on the song “Free & Brave.” Miké is also proud that his video for “Tranny Boy” is at 30K views on YouTube. It was his first music video and feels that it’s time has only begun.

Miké’s currently finishing up his second mixtape called 204EVER and his first mixtape MK Ultra was about seeing the world for what it was and picking it apart. 204EVER is a much more spiritual and personal album. It dives deep into intense emotions about relationships and the power struggle that takes place. Miké wants to be considered the first male in decades who successfully pushed gender boundaries without appearing weak.
