Keith Rob, Prince of LA

Always the quiet kid that never used to talk, but now expresses himself with a voice loud as ever, Keith Rob is Brooklyn born and raised aspiring rapper, guitarist, and songwriter. As a child his weekly routine consisted of his dad always blasting reggae in the backyard, mom mellowing out to gospel/church music on the weekends, while his brothers blasted hip-hop and trance music. Always keeping an open mind on different subject matters, Keith has found a lot of issues in today’s society mentally sickening. Waking up the world has always been apart of Keith’s missionary.

At age 19, Keith has went from performing at open mic nights to playing on bigger stages with different artists and different bands. As Keith grew older, he developed his craft through the release of several EP’s and singles as an artist and also with other committed bands he played in. In December 2012 he opened up for Talib Kweli with an electronic/rock band he was in at the time at a College Event Showcase. His biggest performance was in April 2013 at the Hard Rock Cafe on 42nd street for Battle of the Bands

In 2014, Keith relocated from New York to California specifically to attend Musician Institute to further his knowledge and enhance his skills as a guitarist/rapper. Keith Rob released his album titled “Prince of LA” on October 25, 2014 which is more experimental hip-hop orientated. Alternative hard rock is his main genre, but he wanted to try something new for this album and so he quotes “I’m not putting down my guitar and abandoning the rock sound that’s embedded in me. I’m stepping down from the producer’s position and onto the mic and experimenting more as a strict rapper, because when I pick my guitar back up things will only get better”
