KB the Boo Bonic, I’m Your Huckleberry

KB the Boo Bonic is a woman, a Texan, a writer, a college graduate, and maybe the last person you would ever expect to be a rapper. She started rapping over 10 years ago amidst the mix of her friends on the turntables, blunts, and beers. She sharpened her chops freestyling and gained recognition as a viable opponent at house parties and local events. While in San Antonio she met producer Bad Boy Ben and set out to compile her first release, Scars Are Sexy. The femcee made sure to leave no doubt in listeners’ minds that she was dirty south born and bred by enlisting the help of DJ Rapid Ric to mix the album.

KB released her second studio album, Farrah Flossitt, in 2015. The sound is still clearly influenced by her southern rap roots as she pays homage to the Charlie’s Angels star. The production, largely in care of producer Dirt Rich, provides a grimy but fun backdrop as KB flexes her lyrical prowess and solidifies her title as a boss chick. Farrah Flossitt, which features the winning track, received acclaim from popular sites such as BRealTV, as well as local media including the Austin Chronicle. She also performed at her first international gig in Mexico City during Festival Ajusco 2015 and was met with an overwhelmingly positive response.

KB is currently working on features and collaborations with various artists in Austin as well as across the US. When not doing live shows, she is in the studio. Her next project is a free mixtape titled BatSh!T which is releasing early 2016. Following its release, she will be continuing work on an upcoming EP slated for late 2016. She does what she does for her love of hip hop culture, music, writing, and creating. She strongly feels hip hop fans, especially women in hip hop, deserve more than they are being given by the industry and something needs to be done about it. She’ll be your Huckleberry.
