Jazatopia, Re-invention Continues

For more than 20 years Ms. S. Lawson, Jazatopia (pronounced: Jazz-uh-tope-ee-uh), has showcased her talent as an entertainer; from dancer to songwriter, arranger, producer, and singer. Let’s just say entertainment is in her blood. Whether creating melodies and visual projects for others or herself, she is always in re-invention mode. Her music is a mixture of r&b/soul and EDM and her musical influences are Janet Jackson, Prince, Dawn Richard, Missy Elliot, and Timbaland.

Jazatopia started off training to be a dancer in her hometown of Detroit, MI. She has performed locally in hair shows with a rap artists and as a featured dancer on WADL’s Dance Party. She also has been arranging and producing music under the indie Snowball Records label. She has worked with a couple of artists in Michigan then decided to put out music for herself.

Jazatopia has produced and arranged “Symptoms of Love” by Lois, “Get to Steppin” by Grady Washington, and “Baddest Chick” featuring Cientell. Her album Man Up was released in 2015 and her sophomore album The Re-Invention Continues is available now for digital download on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, etc.
