Jay Weldon’s not a freshmen in the professional recording and music industry. Through his dedication to music, the diligent artist has definitely left a stamp with cutting edge songs and lyrics. The South Philly born and raised artist fell in love with hip hop after hearing Ice Cube’s “Today Was A Good Day.” “I used to battle every day. The OGs who already were the shit on the streets, I learned a lot from them,” Jay reveals about is beginnings. The 2002 graduate from Freedom Theater, a top tier music school, inked his first record deal with WalkDownEnt in 2004. That same year he released his 2nd mixtape City Is Mines and the theme song for the Philadelphia Eagles titled “Philly Stand Up.” He went on to win the 2004 Philly Hip Hop award for HUSTLER of the year.

In 2007 Jay signed a sponsorship deal with Mitchell & Ness. A few short years later in 2009 he was nominated for the mixtape of the year for The Time Is Now. Upcoming for him is the Phone Epidemic (No Texting And Driving) Tour and the album Show You Better Then I Can Tell You dropping in December 2016
