Jae Cabrera, Re-emerging From The Underground

Jae Cabrera

Like a man chasing after and wooing a beautiful woman, Jae Cabrera has been pursuing his dream of being a professional recording artist for years with passion, patience, and a few great lines. Singing since kindergarten to the pretty 5 year olds in his class, he decided to try his hand at making his passion his living. After answering an ad for a male vocal group and being accepted immediately, he came to reality that being in a group wasn’t appealing and dropped out 3 months later. During that time, Jae met producer Angelo “DOC” Velasquez and the two continued writing music together eventually turning their collaborations into the songs “I Don’t Mind,” “Don’t Break My Heart,” “and Girl In My Dreams.”

Jae next was signed to an independent label where he spent 2 years on the bench. Undeterred, he left the label and began booking his own shows and promoting himself anywhere he could. He built his buzz in the underground and recorded music for his debut EP on Nemesis Records. His single “I Don’t Mind” got some well-deserved airplay on NYC r&b and hip hop station WBLS 107.5. He disappeared back underground popping up under-the-radar only to co-write songs with Nemesis artist Kristine Sa for her project Hopeless Romantic. The truth is that Jae actually put his own project on hold in order to help Kristine with hers.

Looking to take his music in a different direction, Jae has been patiently working with Angelo and Pat Kelly of the Crashdummies production team over the last couple of years writing and recording a bevy of songs that he is looking forward to releasing soon. He’s also been tapped to participate in the Conquer The Fear tour in Toronto. With a goal to build his fan base in the United States and extend it on a global scale, his music is sure to delight the ears of all those who take a moment to listen.
