Indigo Monet, The Flower Child

Somewhere between 90’s Afrofuturism, Neo-Soul, Hip-Hop, the motherland and the cosmic heaven lives the Alien Queen Indigo Monet. At 21 years old, and two years into the music game, she’s released two mixtapes, one under her previous alias Monet titled “To Be Continued…” and another self titled project released February 2014. With her third eye activated, and mind elevated, her soothing sounds and intense lyrics always convey a deep emotional message of love, triumph, revolution, divinity, self-worth, dignity, and enlightenment. With influences like Erykah Badu, Sade, Aaliyah, Frank Ocean, and Michael Jackson, it’s no wonder that Mama Dingo is a success story in the making.

Indigo has shared the stage with such acts as No Games’ singer Serani, Addicted singer Ryan Leslie, the legendary singing group En Vogue, and Stalley of Maybach Music Group. After being voted in the top 16 bands out of nearly 1,000 entries, her performance at the infamous Freecandy in Afropunk’s 2014 Battle of The Bands competition had everyone asking “Who is Indigo?” Along with singing and songwriting, Indigo is also a successful backup dancer and choreographer working with Quantum Split’s lead singer Soleil Laurent back in 2012 where she opened up for acts like Chrisette Michele and American R&B singer and actor Christopher Williams.

There’s no doubting her passion and love for the arts. Her many passions have lead her into all avenues like modeling, writing, dancing, painting, and making dope music that she hopes will change the world. With her kindred spirit and deep philosophies, this flower child hopes to get your mind buzzing. Always ask “why?” Question everything. Make your own path.
