IAMJ-BO, Reflecting On My Rough Past

Justin Marque Williams (born April 16), known by the stage name IAMJ-BO, is an American rapper/writer signed to Para Music Group from Phoenix, Arizona. J-BO grew up in a neighborhood ruled by poverty, gangs, and drugs. He sought out a different path and received football scholarship offers to various universities before ultimately accepting a full ride scholarship to Utah State University. Shortly after being introduced to Dushine “Pacman” Smith, J-BO quickly found himself embracing the art of music and never more so than when he was place on IR with a lower leg injury. In 2009, he released his first street mix-tape titled “Fully Loaded” which was a tribute to his deceased cousin Mikel Kevin Byars, known as Kellogz, who was murdered December 21, 2002.

Through his lyrics, he reflects on his rough past and his wild attitude while allowing his audience to understand where he has been and what he has experienced. He was featured on Hot New Hip Hip for his hit single “24/7” which gained national attention and has toured/opened up for some of Hip-Hop’s legends. J-BO is an official member of the West Coast super group OTS with ties to Mack 10’s Hoo-Banging Records. His production comes from Kurt Kobane, an ex-Death Row Records producer who has produced and worked with Row’s greatest artists. He is definitely one of the rising stars in Hip-Hop coming out of Phoenix, AZ.
