Drez J, Coming With A Vengeance

A star was born on April 20, 1991 in Winston Salem, North Carolina and little did the town know that their very own Donald Samuels Jr., Drez J, would be the Rap artist that would take the world by storm. Though his family wasn’t rich in the sense of material goods, the family was rich in music culture exposing the youngster to all genres of music. He listened to the oldies greats like Earth, Wind, and Fire, All Green, The Temptations, Michael Jackson, and The Isley Brothers. His brothers introduced him to rappers like Bone Thugs, Tupac, Biggie, Boogie Boyz, Eazy-E, NWA, Ice Cube, Slick Rick, and Public Enemy.

Influenced by the music, Drez J began to develop his repertoire of music skills and discovered poetry leading to a poem recital in class that his teacher loved. With the blessing it boosted his confidence to make the decision to pursue a career in the music industry. Under the stage name Yung Rich, he began to learn the intricacies of the music industry single handedly by building his own recording studio propelling his musical talents. However, his personal life began to crumble as family deaths and incarcerations became a reality leading to trying to find comfort in family and putting his career on hold. The stress eventually mounted and lead him back to music and he came back with a vengeance.

Under the new stage name, Yung Drama, he returned to the game but the name didn’t last; the name didn’t exactly define who he was as an individual. Brainstorming with a teacher the name Drez J was derived from his initials DJ. With new moniker in tow he reintroduced himself by making hit after hit and is determined to be the next platinum selling artists. Currently he’s working on continuing his education on the music industry and writing and creating masterpieces.
