Alex The Great, The Mother Song


Alexander Jones is a 23 year old rapper born and raised on the south side of Chicago, an area that’s been marred by an ongoing violence crisis. He developed the name Alex The Great in 2013 during a summer program called The Music Lab with talents such as drawing and rapping.

Alex The Great has done open mic performances on stages all throughout Chicago. He made a song on Mother’s Day called “The Mother Song” that reached over 300 shares on Facebook. Alex also entered WGCI’s Love Of Kendra G Contest and made it as a finalist by submitting a 15 second Instagram freestyle rap about her. Due do to finding out late, he couldn’t participate in the finals.

Alex The Great is a busy man working on a variety of projects that are sure to propel his career. He’s currently making videos for his most recent project titled Mad Genius as well as videos for “The Mother Song,” “Watch The Throne,” and a feature called “Wordplay.” He is also working on his upcoming project titled Good For Your Soul that may be released in the Summer. He plans on doing even more open mic events, making more videos, and hopes to join the Freshman XXL magazine and freestyle.
