AbstraK, The Masterpeace


Kalvin Ruel-Lee Richards better known by the stage name AbstraK is an American hip-hop recording artist from Connecticut. AbstraK started rapping when he was a freshman in high school scribbling lyrics in a red notebook. Around senior year, AbstraK found a website (My16Bars) where artists could battle each other online using on-screen lyrics. There is where he mastered his craft of double entendre and structuring verses.

After graduating from Greenwich High School, he moved to south Florida to work as a graphic designer as well as an intern for MTB PR & Marketing Firm. He designed flyers/merch product and promoted shows for many artists in the hip hop industry such as Plies, Travis Porter, Webbie, and others.

In September, 2013 AbstraK packed up and moved to Boston, MA to pursue a career in music professionally. Surrounding himself with Berklee College of Music students and the other 5 music schools in the area, he met DJ/producer SPZM. The two artist started and independent record label SBTRK RCRDS along with the help of surrounding producers, Savidge Sounds and Finn.

On September, 2014 AbstraK released “The Masterpeace” EP, his debut Extended Play (EP) project. This debut EP struck heads with its Jazz inspired instrumentals and animated vocals.AbstraK is currently working on his next EP which has not yet been announced.
