Abakus Brings An Underground Hip Hop Sound

When it comes to being musically inclined, Abakus’s a seasoned pro in the music business and has made a name for himself. From innovative and vanguard lyrics to impactful performances and styles, the music’s speaking for itself and people are listening. Don’t sleep on Abakus because the musician and entrepreneur might just have something up his sleeve that’s purely unexpected.

The Derby, England native has been performing for the last 7 years around the United Kingdom as a solo artist with brother Jakka Blades and with his crew PolyMaffs. The sound they’re bringing is underground hip hop with abstract lyricism laced over dusty, melodic, and avant garde instrumentals. In 2015 Abakus along with producer Aokid released a collaboration EP entitled Deep Street Sounds that received international acclaim through their label Mana Records. The label was set in motion in 2014 and since then it’s grown to a roster of 11 artists.

In the coming months Abakus will be releasing an album produced by UK hip hop legend Micall Parknsun alongside Jakka. He’s also looking at touring France with Aokid with the help of the Limonadier Magazine. Come summer you can catch him rapping at various festivals and also competing in the Boom Bap Rhymepad competition in late July. Much content is also expected from the Mana Records roster this year.
